Cam’s Picks of the Week

A deadly list, a badass heroine and a caped crusader.

The Film Pick: Kill List (2011)

Both an intense character study of British hitmen and an innately terrifying chiller, Kill List implements a consistent sense of dread and eerie subliminal messaging throughout, leading to a gob-smacking, utterly devastating climax. A real unappreciated gem in the genre.

The TV Pick: Jessica Jones (2015)

The finest of the MCU TV roster (closely followed by Daredevil), Jessica Jones not only has a grounded, not characteristically ‘super’ hero, but the greatest villain in the MCU so far in the form of David Tennant as the creepy Kilgrave. Thrilling television with fantastic performances.

The Game Pick: Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3/XBOX 360/PS4/XBOX ONE)

Arguably the most influential game of the late 2000s, Arkham Asylum gave birth to a whole new breed of action gameplay, with seamless countering and robust fighting controls. It’s a game that has been countlessly imitated but never outdone (although Arkham City is the best of the franchise). Look back to the revitalisation of the superhero game genre; sit down with Arkham Asylum, which can be purchased on next gen consoles as part of the Return to Arkham release.
