Ethan Hunt is back – Mission Impossible 5 trailer released

As we plough on through 2015, there is something to look forward to; summer blockbuster season. What makes this better is that one of the summer films released an official trailer today. That’s right folks, Mission Impossible 5 is on the horizon.

The film’s theatrical title “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” was released by Paramount in the lead up to the trailer reveal today. The film will see Tom Cruise reprise his role as Ethan Hunt, as well as previous cast members such as Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames returning for the next instalment.

The film will revolve around Ethan Hunt and his IMF (Impossible Missions Force) going up against a criminal organization known as the Syndicate, an anti-IMF group. Not much else has been released about the plot but really, what else do you need. It is a guarantee that we’re going to see Tom Cruise in full action like we’d expect, with plenty of stunts I’m sure.

Tom Cruise shared a teaser trailer for the film yesterday on his twitter page. He said that he was “excited to share the first footage” with everyone, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The main centre-piece in the trailer features Cruise clinging on the door of a plane as it takes off. Only in Mission Impossible eh?

I’m a huge fan of the Mission Impossible films. They’ve only improved as time has went on, especially with the outstanding fourth film “Ghost Protocol”. What makes the franchise so great is that it perfectly incapsulates what an action film like it should do; provide a sense of escapism. It puts us in a world full of outrageous stunts, exotic locations and brilliant action sequences, not to mention a few cool gadgets. I’m incredibly excited for this.

The film is set for official release on July 31.
